Amauliq Installation, 2023

Image 1

The three Balance elements of Amauliq Installation were installed along a driftwood log lying along the beach facing the arctic Ocean to the North. Ivuyuk and Split pingos were to the west, and scattered driftwood and the remains of a beluga along the beach to the east. Each work in the Amauliq installation uses found materials These respond delicately and precisely to the shifting wind coming off the sea. Rather than moving with independent agency, these sculptures work in harmony with each other and the wind.

Amauliq Installation 3 is Ghost Net rebalanced with the nets removed and the chain reconfigured.
