100 Words (discs), 2023

100 Words is a personal exploration of my relationship to language, altered by an injury in 1989. This collection of words I group in three categories: Resonant words such as “manifold”, that I experience as a hum or vibration. Fugitive words, such as “franchise” (in the political sense) express concepts that I struggle to unlock for use. Iconic words, like “panopticon” function like desktop icons, simple seeming containers of complex and critical concepts.

These 100 words form an index or conceptual map of me. The discs are a resource for mind mapping relationships within and between these texts.
